How to Make Your Auto Insurance Affordable

Many people complain about how high their insurance policies are but do little to lower them.   There are multiple ways to lower every type of insurance policy you have. 

To lower your auto insurance, you should try doing the following:

• Maintain a good driving record.  Your auto insurance will be much lower with fewer tickets and fewer accidents.  Insurance companies like to insure people who have good records and clean slates.  Also have your children maintain good grades.  Most auto insurance companies will give discounts to teenagers who maintain a B or better average in school.  This is just a way to look responsible to your car insurance company.
• Try to find a car that is not expensive to drive.  Certain types of cars are more expensive to drive, such as cars with only two doors or fancy sport cars.  Auto insurance companies usually will provide you with a list of the more expensive cars to insurance, so you should check that out before purchasing a car so you do not get stuck not being able to afford it. Also auto insurance companies will provide you a list of the cheaper cars to insure, so you should consider purchasing a car on this list to save money in the long run.  Cars that are made in the United States may be cheaper to insure then cars made overseas.  This is because if a part is needed for a repair, it will usually be more expensive to get it overseas than it is here in the U.S.
• Get an anti-theft security system.  This will help protect your car from break-ins.  Some cars are harder to break into them others, so do your research before you purchase or buy an anti-theft security system.
